The GreenSteering® XST42X is the green mechanical linear trailer steering unit for city roads and urban distribution. The first and the fourth of the trailer’s 4 axles are X-steered, making the trailer extremely easy to manoeuvre in the various conditions found in the city and on urban roads. The XST42X is the green champion that extends the service life of tyres to 250% and brings savings of 8% on diesel consumption, C02 and NOX. Equivalent to 15+ delivery vans for optimal urban and city distribution or 1.5 box trucks so that it helps to create a healthier world. Optimal manoeuvrability and extremely well-balanced steering guarantee stress-free driving, improving safety for the public and the driver. Extremely low friction means lower fuel consumption and less wear and tear on tyres whilst turning. And that means less damage to roads and pavements. Very little tyre noise increases suitability for urban and city distribution at night. The unique worldwide patented linear steering system is lighter and more durable than other steering systems. The lower overall weight enables the payload per trailer to be increased. Used with e.g. flatbed and curtainsider trailers.

    The GreenSteering® XST42X steering module provides a higher level of safety than a rigid axle trailer. The extreme manoeuvrability and linear character of the steering system make turning and reversing extremely easy. Safer for pedestrians and cyclists. GreenSteering® restricts jackknifing. Safer for the driver and the public.

  • Better for your tyres and roads

    A non-steered rigid semi-trailer and a semi-trailer with a trailing axle generate a high level of friction between the tyres and the road surface when turning, causing damage to the road. This doesn’t happen with the GreenSteering® XST42X module with which almost no friction is generated when steering. Lower costs for the taxpayer and for the user.

  • Higher loading capacity

    The XST42X from GreenSteering® ensures a higher loading capacity than trailers equipped with other mechanical steering systems. The axles are further apart, reducing the risk of overloading.

  • More stable road behaviour

    The GreenSteering® XST42X steers the first and the fourth axle of the semi-trailer in a counter = X movement so that the driver experiences extreme manoeuvrability at low speeds and stability at higher speeds. Because the axle is actively steered, reversing manoeuvres are just as easy as forward manoeuvres. There is no need to lock the axle when reversing as it is actively steered. No noise generated by the scrubbing of tyres so noise emissions are low, making the system ideal for night-time distribution. With the GreenSteering® XST42X system, you will be able to access locations that would be inaccessible with a rigid trailer, enabling you to transport more freight to “difficult to reach locations” than ever before in a single trip – and at less cost to you.
